Rijkaard leads clear-the-air Barcelona crisis talks

Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard held clear-the-air talks with his players yesterday following Saturday night's humiliation at Real Betis.

Rijkaard did not steam into his players, says DiarioSport, and instead chose to be measured in his comments, which included complaints of "a lack of intensity at key moments in the game".

After the Dutchman's address, both assistant coach Eusebio Sacristan and goalkeeper trainer Juan Carlos Unzue also had their say.

However, the situation did become heated when Rijkaard opened the floor to the players to air their grievances. Skipper Carles Puyol kicked things off, but soon others were having their say, which provided moments a genuine tension and bitter recrimination amongst the players.
