Barcelona coach Rijkaard hails "perfect" Krkic

Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard was full of praise for matchwinner Bojan Krkic after last night's 1-0 victory at Schalke.

Krkic swooped for the winner in the 12th minute and Barca held on in the second-half as Schalke laid siege on Victor Valdes' goal.

A relieved Rijkaard said afterwards: "I am pleased with everything he (Krkic) does. Everything he does on the field, the decisions he makes, is correct. Despite his age, he played like a great player of this team.

"It's important he does not lose his humility and he continues working hard."

Rijkaard added: "The team worked very hard, began well, scored the goal and soon we also had to suffer. Schalke has a good team, did everything to change the result, but I congratulate my players because they worked hard for the victory."

Samuel Eto'o added: "To see Krkic score the winning goal fills us all with joy. The lad is a phenomenon."
