Despite their Copa del Rey semifinal defeat to Valencia, Barcelona president Joan Laporta insists they showed enough in the game for fans to be confident about their Champions League hopes.
"Tonight has shown that we have a team capable of winning the Champions League and I'm convinced that if we get another opportunity in the league (to catch Madrid) we will take it," he told Barca TV.
"The team has lost with dignity, giving their all after having the final within our reach. We came very close.
"This can affect us all, but when you are eliminated like this the damage is reduced.
"We completely dominated the game and showed we still have a lot to look forward to this season because when go all out for it we have shown that we can achieve anything."
